BY DANIEL GODWIN - Two pickers made the most of the full schedule with a 13-3 score: BOCA BOB (Bob Green of Lee County) and THE AGENT (Richie Edwards of Key Agency of Boca Grande).
Three teams are at 12-4 with four at 11-5 and 15 at 10-6. Good job pickers.
The games of the week start out with a Thursday night game between division rivals New Orleans and Atlanta. (Since the Boca Beacon comes out on Friday, this game happened the night before so we hope it was a good one.)
The Sunday games have the Seahawks flying to the windy city to meet de Bears. The Pats go to South Beach to work on their tans. The Colts try their “Luck” (as in their QB) in the motor city with the Lions.
The pirates of Tampa head to Denver to steal a victory and a few ponies. Another division game that was played two weeks ago has the rusty Steelers playing the Ravens again for that division’s title.
On Sunday night the wounded Eagles go to Dallas. If the Cowboys win, it will help them in their standing but come Monday night when the Giants are in Washington, it just might change things up. So, if the ‘Boys and ‘Skins win, the top is a log jam, but if New York wins, they will sit at the top looking down.
The winner of this pigskin thing will get their chance to pick their favorite NFL team colors on a “World’s Greatest Tarpon Fishing” T-shirt courtesy of Capt. Sandy Melvin and Gasparilla Outfitters.
Enjoy the weekend games.
