The contest is free to all adults and children, with many prizes to be won, but all young children must be supervised by adults during the event.

The contest consists of 15 shots taken from several locations around the court. The three top competitors in each age division will advance to the final round. Call 964-2564 for more information.

Representatives for Santa Claus have contacted the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce to confirm that the bearded one will once again provide the celebrity star power for the annual Boca Grande Christmas Walk, to be held Saturday, Nov. 24. The theme this year is “A Tropical Christmas.”

The village will be decorated, luminary candles will light the way, carolers will carol and local businesses will be opening their doors for shopping and socializing.

The walk begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.

A spokesperson for Santa stated that Gasparilla Island is one of Santa’s favorite stops.

“The big guy really loves to ride the fire engine, and the children of Boca Grande have been especially nice this year.”

Keep it up, kids ... at least until Christmas!
