The carnival will begin with a costume contest at 2 p.m. sharp. The age groups will be 0-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-12 and, of course, the Family/Group division.
Registration will take place in front of the outside stage from 1:30 to 1:50 p.m. Awards and ribbons will be given to every child.
Following the costume contest everyone is invited to participate in homemade carnival games, the cake walk and carnival treats. For even more fun, grab a ball and take a chance on immersing Sgt. Jeff Corkhill in the dunk tank.
Wristbands will be sold for $5 for the games, and tickets can be purchased for beverages, popcorn, sno-cones, cotton candy and the cakewalk.
This year the community center is asking families to donate one bag or more of individually-wrapped soft candy per child. Drop candy off no later than Monday, Oct. 22.
The cake walk is always a big hit at the carnival and will be held under the pavilion on the community center grounds this year.
Cake donations are very much needed as well. All cakes must be dropped off by Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers are always needed to staff the game booths, sell tickets, pass out food, and help out with overall preparations of the carnival. If you would like to volunteer or donate a cake call the community center at 964-2564.
