Enjoy the smells of fall and winter, help out The Island School

STAFF REPORT - Want to make your house smell like a pumpkin? Or spice? Or just autumn in general? In the near future there is a way you can do just that, and help The Island School at the same time.

The students are launching a Yankee Candle campaign. Armed with catalogs and order forms, they will be ready and willing to take orders that will benefit the school, all through the PTO.

“We wanted to do something for all the people who usually donate to the school, but don’t necessarily get anything in return,” said Danielle Robbins, one of the parent organizers of the project. “And who doesn’t like a Yankee Candle?”

There are also Christmas-scented candles available, as well as gift wrap and other items that would make great holiday presents.

The sale ends October 15. If you don’t know any students who go to The Island School but you need a Yankee Candle fix, call the school at 964-8016 and ask for Michelle.
