BY MELISSA LATERZA - Breon Daugherty’s hometown of Port Charlotte, Fla., was a humble place to grow up in.

“Port Charlotte was very quiet, I liked it. I never had any problems,” said Breon, a new preschool teacher at Our Lady of Mercy’s Boca Grande Child Care Center.
