On Friday, March 9 at approximately 9 p.m. deputies spoke with a resident whose 2010 Mercedes was stolen from outside the Gasparilla Inn & Club.

According to reports the vehicle was located utilizing a tracking system and recovered off-island, near Appleton Road in South Gulf Cove. Several items were missing from the vehicle, including some keys, Oriental rug-type floor mats, emergency roadside tools and a Mercedes ignition key.

On Saturday, March 10 deputies responded to a call from a resident on Jose Gaspar Drive who realized that bicycles had been stolen from outside his residence. They were last seen on or about March 8, and their estimated value was $200 for both.

One bicycle was a men’s-style black Sun Cruiser, the other was a pink woman’s Sun Cruiser.

Anyone with any information on these crimes can call the local sheriff’s department at 964-2400.
