Dorothy Kaiser
On Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 Dorothy Patricia Kaiser passed away in Washington, D.C.

She was the loving wife of 64 years of John Kaiser, cherished mother of Nancy Dufrane (Richard), Linda Brant (Michael) John Kaiser (Karen) Patricia Vincent (Norman), June Kaiser, Kurt Kaiser (Nora), William Kaiser (Sue) and Timothy Kaiser.

Dorothy was also grandmother to 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was born in Manhattan, N.Y. and originally studied dress design. She married a childhood friend, John Kaiser, and together they had eight children.

They moved often due to employment obligations, and had many residences including Rome N.Y. and Yardley Pa., but settled in Cherry Hill and Brigantine N.J. where they resided for over 20 yrs.
Dorothy had passion, courage and determination. After raising her family, she returned to school and graduated with a BS in Sociology from Glassboro College (Rowan College) and an MA in Adult Education from Temple University.

She was an accomplished watercolorist, a hobby which brought her much joy through the years. She loved children and animals, excelled at duplicate bridge, had a passion for food and was a gourmet cook. She enjoyed the fine arts, including the art of storytelling in theater and literature.

Her greatest love, however, was for her family. She retired to Florida with her husband, where they enjoyed many wonderful years in Naples and Boca Grande.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Boca Grande.
