It’s time to rope in yer partner, harness up your fine steed (or Mercedes) and head on down to the 2012 Tarpon Ball.
A benefit for The Island School, “The Tarpon Ball Round-up,” is their biggest fundraiser of the year, and will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Amory Chapel.
While there will be no artistic tarpon auctioned off this year, there will still be live and silent auctions.
There will be a raffle as well, and the prizes are big ones. An anonyous donor provided a gift certificate for $2,000 worth of “vittles” at Hudson’s Grocery to the lucky winner. Raffle tickets will be sold in front of Hudson’s and the Post Office, and you don’t have to be present to win. Tickets are $20 each or three tickets for $50.
Music will be provided by The Dixie Highway Show Band. Food will include pulled pork, chicken, beans, corn bread and more, provided by Mike Reark.
RSVP as soon as possible if you’ve received an invitation, or call The Island School at 964-8016 if you are interested in attending. Tickets are $150 per person, $100 of which is tax-deductible.
