Strawberry Festival committees start rounding up auction items

This year there will be no live auction, but the silent auction will feature some breathtaking items.

A “Down in the Tropics” jewelry set created by Barbara Hughes will be up for bid. The matching necklace and earrings are created from rare electric blue apatite, mixed with the cool blue of Peruvian opal; rose quartz; torquoise; peridot; lavendar chalcedony; aquamarine; pale, frosted rose quartz; vintage Bohemia glass leaves that are over 20-years-old), vintage opalescent pink flower beads, silky light pink amethyst, green aventurine and vintage Bohemia crackle glass beads. According to Hughes, many of the vintage Bohemia glass beads cannot be replaced.

The event will feature the popular bargain sale, boutique, strawberry shortcakes, furniture, brats and hot dogs, delicious homemade baked goods and much more.
