Known for his British humor, energy, and creative personal touch, he has won several Garden Globe awards for his TV work, as well as the "Gold Award for the Best Talent on Air, and all his talents were on display at his presentation. He included a little quip about Winston Churchill (who was sitting next to a bothersome woman at dinner, who said to him “if you were my husband, I’d poison your drink.” To which Winston responded, “If you were my wife, I’d drink it!”
He included a photo of his two sons who are now 18 and 16. These were shown with slides of the English gardens that the club will be visiting in May when a group of members will go to the Chelsea Flower Show. His presentation was entertaining and led lots of members to flock around him afterward with lots of comments and questions. He said that gardening can be much more fun when it is effortless, environmental, enabled, edible and extraordinary!!
His presentation was followed by tea and a plant sale by Line Berousek of Pomello Park Nursery in Venice in the Woman's Club Room, where many people bought orchids and bromeliads.
