Letter to the Editor: Commissioner seeks artist for 2012 in-office displays

To the Editor:

Commissioner Tammy Hall’s office is looking for local artists willing to show their work in her Fort Myers office during 2012.  

The space can hold 11 or 12 medium large pieces. All pieces should be ready to hang. There are some flat surfaces to display ceramic and 3D work.   

Artwork will be on display for six weeks. Each month will feature a theme.  

If you are interested in displaying your work, please call (239) 533-2226 or email dist4@leegov.com and include the dates your available and a link or example of your work.  

Preference will be given to first-time displayers.   

Themes for 2012:
• January 1 - February 10 – Theme pending
• February 13 - March 30 – Black History month and International Women’s Day
• April 2 to May 11 - Earth Day and/National Photography Month
• May 14 - June 29 – Theme pending
• July 30 to August 31 - Dog days of summer or local scenes
• September 3 through October 17 – Hispanic Heritage Month
• October 19 through November 30 – Pending
• December 3 through January 11, 2013 – Conclusion of the year-long celebration of “125 years of Lee County.”
