Retro T-shirts hit the island in time for Christmas

Memories from the past of Gasparilla Island have come alive at Fugate’s in the form of a line of T-shirts.

“Long Lost Ts,” working with the Boca Grande Historical Society and Beacon art director Daniel Godwin, have launched their line of shirts featuring images from the storied past of the island.

View More images >>Right now there are seven different tees available: Laff-A-Lott, The Temptation, the Boca Grande Hotel, Pink Elephant, Bump’s Bar, The Albatross Bar, and Kozy Kitchen.

Long Lost Ts didn’t just take photos from the archive, though. Each shirt comes with a short history of the landmark whose logo it bears.

The line of shirts is designed by Markham McGill, godson of local historian Robert Johnson. In fact, McGill credits Robert with convincing him to add a Boca Grande line to his business. And when you buy a shirt, you will be helping to secure the future of the Historical Society, as $1 will be donated to them with each shirt sold.
