It’s beginning to look a lot like a Boca Grande Christmas. Island businesses are decorating their windows and getting ready for Saturday’s Christmas Walk, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Santa will be arriving by fire truck, and he will be greeting children of all ages in front of Ariel Ltd.
Most businesses downtown will be staying open until 8 p.m., and many of them will be offering refreshments. The chamber will also be judging the different window displays. This year’s theme is “Silver King Christmas.” The winner gets bragging rights for a year.
Gasparilla Properties, Fresh Produce, Key Agency, Fugate’s, Gulf to Bay Sotheby’s, Smart Studio, Boca Grande Real Estate, Boca Grande Outfitters, Bike and Beach, The Temp, Ltl. Ariel, Sadie Green’s, Barbara Anne’s, and Sea Squirts will all be serving refreshments. Special Effects will by serving Ed Davis’ Spanish bean soup with venison sausage.
Newlin’s Mainely Gourmet will be having a bake sale to benefit the Island School.
The Antique Boutique will be giving out personalized Christmas ornaments and hosting an Amish food tasting. Tarpon Coast Realty will be providing luminaries to light downtown for the walk.
Santa is expected to arrive on the scene around sunset. Just listen for the fire trucks, his favorite Boca method of travel.
Call the chamber at 964-0568 for more information.
