Local artists awarded for 3-D work

This month two Boca Grande artists received awards at the Venice Art Center’s “Three Dimensional Art” juried exhibition.

Diana Runyon, glass mosaic artist (at right), was awarded first place for her piece, “Pickin’ Daisies.” Susan Shaffer, potter and papermaker (above left), received a merit award for her “Cardinal Vessel.”  Both are members of the Boca Grande Art Alliance and year-round island residents. This was Diana’s second regional award this year, and Susan’s fifth.

The Venice Art Center is located at 380 Nokomis Ave. S. in Venice, and the show will run through November 11.
