So who are you? You must be connected to Boca Grande by either being a full-time resident OR by having a parent working on the island for the last two years.
What should you do? You should complete scholarship packets available from Mary Jo Holleran at Lemon Bay this fall. Inform Ms. Holleran your connection to Boca Grande and include in the packet, your grades, goal statements, recommendations and extracurricular activities.
When is the selection process? The Boca Grande Woman’s Club Scholarship Committee will be interviewing applicants in the spring.
If you are lucky enough to receive a grant, you must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours while maintaining a 2.5 G.P.A.
In addition, you must submit an official transcript at the end of EACH semester with a copy of the next semester’s schedule.
This is really important and it is up to you to remember this, with a gentle email from the chair of the Scholarship Committee. We don’t like to see you work so hard to fill out the packet, receive the grant, only to lose it because you forgot to follow the rules.
Questions may be submitted in writing to BGWC, PO Box 65, Boca Grande FL 33921, attention: Scholarship Chairman.
So don’t tarry! We are happy to let you know that for the fall of 2011, 25 students are receiving scholarships from the BGWC!
