It has been cussed out, poisoned, cursed and cut away. It affects almost everyone in the world, through firsthand experience or from knowing someone who has died in its deadly throes. It is cancer.
The News -
On Tuesday, April 23 at approximately 12:15 p.m. two vehicles were involved in a rollover accident at 26th Street and Gasparilla Road.
So far, everyone injured in the boating accident in Bull Bay that occurred on April 12 are doing well. Andrew Haines of Pheonix, Ariz., who was airlifted from a local marina after being involved in the accident, has been discharged from Lee Memorial Hospital. Haines was on the boat captained by Capt. Steve Ahlers when they were involved in a collision with a boat operated by Jesse Smith of Port Charlotte.
The aggravated battery case against islander Jarrett C. Bottjer has been dropped. According to Lee County Clerk of Court records, the case never even made it to trial. According to Clerk of Court reports, the arraignment, scheduled for April 2, was cancelled with no further information available.Bottjer was taken into custody on March 13 after he allegedly struck another man with a bottle in front of the Loose Caboose Restaurant.
