As Lorn's cousin growing up in Chicago, I remember these times with Lorn during our vacations to Boca Grande. He is a beautiful spirit nurtured by his mother who shares this beauty with him. Yes Lorn lives on in our family, the community, and in the whole-hearted environmental work of my Aunt Delores.

I am Lorn's Aunt Marilyn from Chicago. Never a year goes by that I would ever forget his birthday. As his Mom wrote he was a beautiful free spirit with a slight twinkle of mischievousness in his eyes. He had a very loving heart and was always kind to animals, birds, and fish. I still remember him playing his guitar on a circle with his friends during our last visit. He was so happy!! Little did we know what would happen just one day after we left. His life was taken from us in an instant from the car accident. I think of him often as do our children, anytime I travel to Florida I always ask to go to visit the island a stop at Lorn's cross to pay our respects xndcreflect on his life. I still have one of tie dyed shirts. Each of kids wore it at one time or the other and we plan to keep it forever...

As Nov. 8th was my Mom's birthday,I devoted much of the day to listening to music she loved and reflecting upon how much she taught us. I rarely fail to remember Lorn on the 10th, but really appreciated this special reminiscence (Thankyou, Beacon!) to re-visit joyous moments of those golden days, and even our tragic parting. Reading this reminds me how profoundly and positively he influenced those who shared his life in the Paradise of Boca Grande. Even the intolerant driver so irate at having to wait for turtles to be safely out of traffic was given a lesson to learn. Lorn had a subtle way of helping you see humor in a situation, even to laugh at yourself - just one of his many unique qualities we miss. I know he was truly proud of his Mother's many efforts to heal and protect wildlife, and eagerly helped with many tasks. I feel sure that his soaring spirit inspires Delores to continue to meet those challenges. P.S. My daughter, Alice loved him as a big brother & carries on his tie-dyed tradition.
